David Wharton

4th/5th Grade Aide and Extended Care Coordinator

David Wharton Our Extended Care Director and 4th-5th aide, David Wharton, has been active at Crestmont since the first of his three children entered the school in the early 1980s. He had also served in various Crestmont Board positions, including president, over the years. In addition to running the extended care program, David has been a teacher’s aide since 1992. A native San Franciscan, David attended SFSU as a Humanities major and California College of Arts & Crafts to study jewelry making.

David loves play production and art, and playing guitar in his Palm Gardens band. But the impact that David has made, and continues to make, on the Crestmont community goes well beyond the music, the art, the theater, and the educational skills he brings. He serves as a positive role model for all Crestmont students. The commitment he has to Crestmont and the manner in which he supports the children as they learn their lessons, both academic and social, are unique in a school setting. We are lucky to have a man like David sharing his creativity, his humor, his experience, and his wisdom with our students and their families.
