Stephen Duffy

Music InstructorAward-winning singer/songwriter, producer, and owner of Splendid Productions, Stephen Duffy has been in the recording and sound reinforcement business for more than twenty years during which time he’s worked with some of the Bay Area’s top artists, along with choirs, schools, bands and orchestras. He has worked for Governor Jerry Brown and CA Attorney General Bill Lockyear.

Stephen is also a musician with a long creative history in the music industry in Britain and California — He has recorded and/or produced more than one hundred albums. Recently he was commissioned to compose the music and sound production for the plays, “What Do” by Susanna Wood and “Being Something” By Ellen Sebastien Chang.

Stephen has been teaching vocal music since 2007 and  in addition to Crestmont currently and offers “Mr. D’s Music Club” after school program to 4 other local schools.

He is the founder of the “Sunday Hooligans” soccer cup, an annual soccer tournament that raises money for childrens’ Charities around the world. He continues to play soccer although he should probably know better!

Stephen was also the founder of, and singer with, Bay Area band “Handsome Poets”. His current musical project is the spooky pop band “That Man Fantastic”.

He has 3 children, 2 girls and a boy, ages 10 months to 19 years, which accounts for the premature balding and copious wrinkles not mention the the stoop and the busted knees!
