This year we are proud to announce the production site will be at the Prospect Sierras’s Stage in El Cerito We are only able to get the stage in the evening of Thursday the 17th and Friday the 18th.  We will do an at school rehearsal for students in Friendship Hall at 1:00 on Thursday the 17th.

There will be a Dress Rehearsal Preview performance at 6:30 at Prospect Sierra.
The actual performance will take place at 7:00 on Friday the 18th at Prospect.

The seating in the theatre is about 100 people, so I am hoping that with the 3 performances everyone will get a chance to see it at least once.

I am looking forward to seeing you all there.

Every child at Crestmont took part in making the Changemakers portaits. Each image can be seen as a whole only through the expressive hands and participation of each individual. The process of making is a metaphor for the community effort of a successful cooperative. In this work we celebrate art, children, education, activism and community.

This art project was led by the amazing Carol Elkovich, with all of the teachers opening their classrooms up for the cooperative art project. The show is on display Lanesplitter Pizza in Berkeley for the whole month of April. Check it out!

Changemakers Student Art Exhibit at Lanesplitter Pizza & Pub in Berkeley

Changemakers is an art exhibit featuring portraits of four peace activists, created by the entire student body. The students researched and selected the subjects, and then collaborated on creating the artwork. On April 18 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm there will be an Artists’ Reception featuring free pizza, and happy-hour priced drinks. Free and open to the public. See flier for details.

The 4/5 class finished their excellent production of The Hobbit, kindergarten put on their rendition of Shark Tales, First Grade presented Grasshopper on the Road, and the 2/3 class performed Anansi Brings Stories to the People, A Collection of African Folktales.

Congratulations to the actors for their wonderful performances and many thanks to the teachers and parents for their help and direction.

Flea Market Fundraisers

The students hold several ‘flea markets’ each year, raising money to help charitable causes.

Stone Soup

Every November the entire school observes a unique tradition, Stone Soup. Rain or shine, children, staff, families and friends come together to make wishes for the earth and enjoy a wonderful meal.

This continues to be one of our most popular traditions.
